Steve Melchin, founder of Melchin Residential Design, LLC, has been professionally designing homes and remodels for 21 years. He boasts an extensive resume, having worked for a structural engineer, design build company, home builder, and architect before forming Melchin Residential Design, LLC in 2005.
Steve has received Contractor’s Choice awards from NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry), Dallas Chapter in 2015 and 2016. Recipients of this prestigious award exhibit model practices and have extensive experience in the remodeling industry.
You might recognize Steve from his appearance on HGTV’s Lakefront Bargain Hunt: Renovation in 2017, which featured one of his renovation plan designs that allowed his clients to transform their waterfront house into the home they desired.
Further, Steve has received the Best of Houzz Awards for Client Satisfaction in 2016, 2017, and 2018. His Houzz customers consistently rate him 5 stars for his design work and leave raving reviews.
After nearly 2 decades in the business, Steve has seen it all. He is comfortable working with a wide variety of design styles, including (but not limited to): Traditional, Transitional, Mediterranean, Old World, French Country, Craftsman, Hill Country, and Modern.
Steve’s mission with each new opportunity to serve his clients is to make their dreams a reality. Creative but pragmatic, he provides each of his clients unparalleled attention and the opportunity to join hands-on in the design process to ensure full satisfaction with the completed project.
The design process is daunting, but Steve’s passion for helping you walk away with exactly what you want, is evident. He walks through each step with you and answers any questions you may have, and he listens to you before he even begins the process of designing. You’ll be blown away by his intentionality, active listening skills, and attention to detail.

Steve recently celebrated 21 years of marriage with his wife Andrea. He enjoys volunteering his time at a local food pantry as well as serving at his local church campus.
